Weekly Findings #2 – April 22, 2016

Lets be honest, we could all spend hours upon days browsing the web, hopping from one video to another.  Here, I’m going to share some pages and videos that I’ve found particularly interesting.  If you find them interesting as well, make sure to like, subscribe, or share their content because it really does motivate to users to create and share more content.  And if you’ve found anything particularly interesting that you’d like to share with me, make sure to pass it along in the comments down below.

Guy’s Woodshop

Guy works on cutting the top for his curved front end table.  I’m sure he hates it, but I like this video because he makes a mistake and is able to correct it without making the mistake overly noticeable in his piece.  I probably would have reacted much differently.

Steve Ramsey

I have so much scrap laying around that it’s embarrassing. We probably all do. Steve takes a bunch of pieces of scrap from various species of wood and makes a simple piece of art. Seems more Autumn / Thanksgiving themed to me, but I like geometry that went into this project.

This is not a new video, or an overly detailed project, but I like it. It reminds me of those brain puzzles where you had to try and get the rope untangled from the wood, or the chain link off of some other metal piece. Also, didn’t know you could do that with warm water.

Robert van Embricqs

I know there’s more to this than just wood, but I’m a huge fan of functional pieces that can transform. And this really hits home with me having designed a lot of my early projects so that they can break down and transport easily.

April Wilkerson

This is the second week in a row that April has put out a build that I’ve really liked. This one probably more so because I’m in the middle of a similar build. Here, she makes a coffee table that doubles as a storage box. Additional props to April for creating her own molding on this project.

Matthias Wandel

When the zombie apocalypse comes, I want to be by Matthias. There is nothing that he doesn’t seem to try and make. In this video, he makes his own workshop air clear, and while most might not find this video overly useful for themselves, check out some of his other videos.
